building a shed base using railway sleepers

Just ordered a 12 x 8 heavy duty workshop shed and was advised to use railway sleepers for a base. without analysing this (i.e. concrete, slabs etc.. as i see a lot of posts on this) - can anyone tell me exactly how to do this. i have a flat site currently lawned..
